How to host a watch party in under 60 seconds

A watch party shouldn't need a browser extension, a paid subscription, or a setup tutorial. On ClutchTick, you can be watching a movie with friends in under a minute. Here's the whole thing, start to finish.

1 Create a room

Open ClutchTick and create a room. You can keep it public, make it private, or set a password so it's just your group. There's no server to build and no channels to configure — a room is ready the moment you make it.

2 Go Live

Hit Go Live and pick what to share: a single browser tab, a window, or your whole screen. Sharing a tab is usually the cleanest option for streaming sites, and it lets you share the tab's audio too, so everyone hears the movie.

Because you're sharing your screen, you can watch anything — YouTube, Twitch, a streaming service, or a video file on your computer. There are no source restrictions and nothing to install.

3 Share the link

Copy the room link and drop it to your friends. They join in one tap. Everyone who's in the room sees your screen live — which means you're all on the exact same frame at the same time, with no drift to sync up.

4 Press play

Start the video. As the host, you control play, pause and seek for the whole room. Talk over the movie in voice, drop live reactions, and enjoy it together. When you're done, the room can close itself when the last person leaves — no cleanup.

A few quick tips

• Share tab audio: when your browser asks, enable "share tab audio" so the sound comes through.
• Use a private room for a small group, or a password if you're sharing the link somewhere public.
• Switch modes: a room can flip into Watch Mode for a more cinema-style layout, then back to a chill hangout afterward.
• On a laptop or phone: it all runs in the browser, so anyone can join from any device.
